The Chevy Chevelle SS met the demands of muscle car enthusiasts for small cars with powerful motors. Its sporty fast-back body style which was first concocted in the redesign of the 1968 models gave it a touch of class as did the new design of the tail lights.

The 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle line was the first to have the SS 396 option available but it wasn’t perfect as it resulted the 396 became known for poor handling as it required stiffer springs and shocks than earlier models. Later in the year, the 396 option was replaced with a 402 cubic engine, supposedly due to emission standards.
Chevelles were first released in 1963 with a standard 327 cubic-inch V8, 300 horsepower engine. However, at that time the Pontiac GTO has a 389 that was unmatched.

Acura has done much tinkering under the skin, too. TL buyers, a loyal lot, expressed two primary wants for the new model: more rear-seat room and more performance. Though those objectives are seemingly at odds, Acura has delivered on both fronts-and more.
Wheelbase is up 1.4 inches, width grows nearly two inches, and overall length climbs by a whopping six inches. Yet overall weight, thanks to liberal use of high-strength steel plus aluminum for the hood and some suspension bits, climbs only modestly. Total cabin volume expands by more than a cubic foot; as intended, the new TL provides noticeably more rear-seat legroom than the outgoing car
Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2009 Acura TL is a midsize luxury sedan available in base and sport-oriented SH-AWD trim levels. The base TL comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, a sunroof, heated side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear ventilation controls, eight-way power front seats with heating and driver memory functions, a tilt-telescoping steering column, leather upholstery and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Also standard is an eight-speaker stereo with in-dash six-CD changer, satellite radio, Bluetooth audio connectivity, auxiliary audio jack, USB port and dedicated iPod interface.
The Technology Package available on both trims adds a hard-drive-based navigation system with voice recognition, real-time traffic, real-time weather forecasts, GPS-linked and solar-sensing adaptive climate control system, keyless ignition/entry, a rear spoiler, rearview camera and a 10-speaker Panasonic/ELS surround-sound system with DVD audio and 12.7 GB of digital music storage. All TLs can be equipped with more aggressive tires, while the SH-AWD can be equipped with 19-inch wheels.

Despite boasting 305 horsepower and all-wheel drive, the range-topping model will not sport the Type-S nameplate but will be distinguished by quad exhaust. In fact, Acura will not offer a Type-S model, at least not in 2009 or 2010. It remains unclear if the performance model will eventually join the lineup.
The standard transmission on the 2009 TL and TL SH-AWD® is a Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic featuring F1®-style steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters and Grade Logic Control. Merging the convenience of an automatic with the enjoyment of SportShift manual gear selection, the transmission also features an overdriven top gear for maximum fuel efficiency on the highway. In fact, the Acura transmission has the widest gear-ratio spread of any 5-speed transmission in its class, providing strong acceleration in lower gears and relaxed, fuel-efficient highway cruising.

Every and every component of the high-rev 4.0L V-8 petrol engine of BMW M3 convertible has been carefully designed to deliver an impressive power of 309 kW @ 8300 rpm, with a peak torque of 400 Nm @ 3900 rpm. The modern engine management system of the car ensures that the engine is highly responsive to driver inputs. The engine is linked to seamless 6-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth gearshifts. This’ll be a big hit with those who already like BMW’s. BMW X6 looks slick, for sure. Of note is the flush greenhouse and the muscular arches, though ‘flame surfacing’ seems to be fading fast. Apparently there’s ‘bugger all’ rear room, thus making it a kind of 4×4 coupe, on stilts. The BMW X6 ActiveHybrid’s concept unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt auto show, gives shape to the company’s distinctive interpretation of the full-hybrid technology. Maybe in 2009 or 2010 BMW’s first hybrid scheduled to hit the United States market, the conventional BMW X6 is expected in 2009.
